" Alone in the light "

Born in 1980, composer and clarinettist Yom has been exploring a wide range of musical genres for almost 20 years.

He first made a name for himself revisiting traditional Jewish music with his debut album (New King of Klezmer Clarinet, 2008), but his many projects have taken him into the worlds of rock (With Love, 2011; You will never die, 2018), electronic music (The Empire of Love, 2013), classical and contemporary music (Prière, 2018), and other more unclassifiable forms (Unue, 2009; Green Apocalypse, 2010).

All these journeys have forged a singular path, an artistic approach and an instrumental language that are unmistakably his own, expressing his insatiable quest for spirituality and transcendence.

After a number of projects bringing him closer to sacred music (Le silence de l'Exode, Illuminations, Prière, Eternal Odyssey...), Yom released the album Célébration, a duo with pianist Léo Jassef, a luminous album revealing a new facet of his talents as a composer.

At the same time, he pursued his encounters with other stage disciplines: theatre and dance. He composed the interludes for the "symphonic and migratory object" Baby-Doll, directed by Marie-Ève Signeyrole, propelling him to Europe's greatest stages alongside various symphony orchestras (Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, Deutsche Opera in Berlin, Orchestre National de Lyon, Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon).

In 2023, still accompanied by Léo Jassef and produced by his own label Planètes Rouges, Yom released the album Alone in the light, taking his musical research into meditation and trance even further.
